I was given access to platform usage data for TradingView, a charting platform used by over 100m traders and investors, and used it to uncover localised surges in trading activity that told human stories about those places.


From finding a quiet village in the Home Counties that was trading more currency pairs than anywhere else in the UK, to identifying a spike in searches for cryptocurrencies in conflict zones, I used TradingView's proprietary data to create  unique exclusives for the Mail on Sunday and Observer.

Amid the post-pandemic surge in insurance costs for learner drivers, I built a live cost calculator using extensive desk research, government statistics, and 16 million real-time data points from insurance and finance searches to work out how much it costs a new learner to get on the road.

 

The resulting asset became an enduring reference for media coverage, generating sustained visibility and authority long after its initial launch.
